Meet Dr. Steven H. Pratt

For Dr. Steven H. Pratt, "home" has always been Atlanta, Texas. He graduated in 1973 from Atlanta High School, where he participated in athletics, was a member of the National Honor Society, and served as president of the Science Club. Also active in the Boy Scouts of America, Dr. Pratt was only thirteen when he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. In 1977 he was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. During his high school and college years, his summers were spent in the Boundary Waters area of northern Minnesota and southern Ontario, where he guided canoe trips.

It was at The University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in San Antonio that Dr. Pratt discovered and developed his passion for implant dentistry and oral surgery. He graduated in 1981 and was licensed to practice on June 10 of that year.

Dr. Pratt moved back to Atlanta following his graduation from dental school and became an associate of Michael Thurman, D.D.S. Dr. Thurman encouraged Dr. Pratt's thirst for knowledge, and stressed the importance of continuing education in order to stay current with the ever-evolving science of dentistry. In 1983 Dr. Pratt opened his office at its current location. He founded Atlanta General and Implant Dentistry five years later.
